Job summary

VA Fresno Medical Center seeks a board-certified/eligible Gastroenterologist to provide comprehensive GI care across inpatient and outpatient settings. The role includes performing endoscopic procedures, leading teaching, and contributing to research and quality improvement.

The incumbent will collaborate with the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program, supervise trainees, and participate in program development and clinical governance within the VA system.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required or eligible per VA policy.
• MD/DO degree from an approved school.
• Active full and unrestricted medical license in the US.
• Residency in gastroenterology approved by ACGME/AOA or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient, outpatient, and consultative gastroenterology care.
• Perform GI procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, advanced imaging) as assigned.
• Lead teaching, education, and research activities with trainees and staff.
• Participate in quality assurance, clinical governance, and committee work.
