Job summary

Weatherby Healthcare is assisting an outpatient gastroenterology practice in Laurel, MD with a locum tenens assignment. Shifts are Monday through Friday, 8 am–5 pm, with 8-hour days dedicated to performing endoscopy procedures.

Procedures include upper endoscopy and colonoscopy (30 minutes each; combined 60 minutes), colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision, plus flexible sigmoidoscopy and small bowel biopsy. Ongoing assignment with paid malpractice insurance and pre-paid travel and housing.

Qualifications

• Upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and related procedures required.
• Flexible sigmoidoscopy and small bowel biopsy skills required.
• Outpatient gastroenterology practice performing endoscopy procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform endoscopy procedures as part of the outpatient gastroenterology practice.
• Carry out upper endoscopy (30 min) and colonoscopy (30 min); combined 60 min.
• Includes colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision; flexible sigmoidoscopy and small bowel biopsy as needed.
