The role of Operator involves operating backhoes, excavators, plows, trenchers, and directional borers across daily contracts with the public, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; vocational training preferred.
• At least 3 years’ experience operating multiple pieces of equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Ability to read plans, specs, safety and quality standards; use tools/equipment accordingly.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes.
• Strong hand-eye coordination; willingness to learn and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, etc.) to install, maintain, or repair underground utilities.
• Execute job deliverables per customer specifications and contract requirements.
• Ensure work complies with installation standards and safety protocols.
• Promote safety and monitor team members.
• Prepare sites for optimal construction workflow.
• Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on equipment.
