Q3 Contracting, Inc. is hiring a Designer I in Little Canada, MN. You will design safe operating facilities for new and existing customers following Xcel Energy standards and manage design projects from start to finish.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus an associate degree or equivalent experience in design/drafting or related fields, and at least 2 years as a designer. MS Office, GIS, and design software proficiency are essential. A valid driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Designer I or equivalent.
• Knowledge of construction standards, materials, and technical codes.
• Proficient in Windows OS and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Design safe operating facilities for new and existing customers per Xcel Energy standards.
• Provide design project management across most areas of design.
• Manage projects from initial customer contact through post project analysis.
• Obtain permits and easements per city/state/federal rules.
• Execute contracts and agreements per guidelines.
• Represent the company with government officials, contractors, and engineers.
