Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking a Construction Specialist I to oversee gas distribution construction projects in Dover, DE. You will ensure compliance with company standards and all codes, coordinate with contractors, and generate required field reports.

Role requires 3 years in underground utility work, a high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license. OQ and OSHA knowledge, plus strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with underground utility construction and field oversight.
• Knowledge of safety rules and OSHA requirements.
• Familiarity with OQ program and field testing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction activities on Chesapeake Utilities natural gas distribution systems and ensure compliance with policies and codes.
• Provide written reports and corrective recommendations for on-site and field procedures.
• Collaborate with Project Manager to review, monitor, and verify projects.
• Ensure professional relationships with contractors and third parties.
• Act as liaison with federal/state inspectors as needed.
• Verify qualifications/certifications of external field workers.
• Support Mission and Service Excellence initiatives.
• Review as-built drawings and project documentation for accuracy.
• Complete inspection records and filing requirements.
