Job summary

Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc. is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Technician to keep gas turbine power facilities running safely and efficiently.

You will work hands-on with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems, supporting daily plant activities and safety compliance. Join a team focused on reliability, growth, and development across a wide range of power generation operations and maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent power plant/military experience.
• Experience with gas turbine power plants, MV equipment, instrumentation, controls, electrical systems, or mechanical maintenance.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, control diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and desire to grow across plant operations.
• Strong computer, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor gas turbine equipment through startups, shutdowns, normal operations, and abnormal conditions.
• Troubleshoot, test, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Monitor equipment conditions, alarms, water chemistry, and plant performance data to spot problems.
• Work with DCS, PLCs, instrumentation, electrical testing equipment, power and hand tools, and CMMS.
• Coordinate maintenance, repairs, work orders, and daily plant activities with teams.
• Support safety by adhering to environmental, health and safety, NERC, and lockout/tagout requirements.
