Job summary

Siemens Energy is expanding its global Gas Turbine Engineering organization and is seeking talented engineers to help develop some of the world's most advanced turbomachinery and power generation technologies.

As part of our global team, you’ll collaborate across locations to design, analyze, and improve gas turbine components, drive performance improvements, and support fleet reliability, efficiency and emissions goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or higher in mechanical/propulsion related engineering.
  • Experience with gas turbines, turbomachinery or rotating equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; cross-functional collaboration.

As part of Siemens Energy's Global Engineering team, you'll work alongside industry-leading experts solving some of the most complex engineering challenges in power generation.

Depending on your expertise, your work may focus on:

  • Compressor and turbine aerodynamic design
  • Airfoil, blade, and vane development
  • Combustion system design and analysis
  • Heat transfer and thermal management
  • Structural analysis and component lifing
  • Rotor dynamics and aeromechanics
  • High-temperature materials and coatings
  • Gas turbine performance optimization
  • Product development and technology maturation
  • Integrated Product Team (IPT) leadership

You’ll collaborate with engineering teams across multiple global locations to develop next-generation gas turbine technology, drive continuous product improvements, and support fleet-wide performance and reliability initiative

  • Aerothermal & Performance Engineering: Aerothermal Design, Thermal Systems, Heat Transfer, Gas Turbine Performance, Aerodynamics, and CFD Engineers.
  • Mechanical & Structural Engineering: Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Structural Integrity, Rotor Design, Rotor Dynamics, and FEA Engineers.
  • Combustion & Aero Engineering: Combustion, Combustion Dynamics, Aero Analysis, Aeromechanics, Vibration, and Damping Specialists.
  • Materials & Component Engineering: Materials, High-Temperature Materials, Coatings, Advanced Manufacturing, and Materials & Process Engineers.
  • Technical Leadership: Lead Engineers, Technical Experts, Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads, and Turbomachinery Subject Matter Experts.
How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Design and develop advanced gas turbine and turbomachinery technologies
  • Perform aerodynamic, thermal, structural, vibration, combustion, and performance analyses
  • Support development of compressor, turbine, combustion, and rotating equipment components
  • Solve complex engineering challenges impacting fleet reliability, efficiency, durability, and emissions performance
  • Partner with global engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and service organizations
  • Lead technical problem-solving efforts and drive innovation across the product lifecycle
  • Influence next-generation energy technologies supporting the global energy transition
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 3+ years of industry experience, or equivalent PhD research experience, in one or more of the following areas:
    • Gas turbines
    • Turbomachinery
    • Rotating equipment
    • Aerospace propulsion systems
    • Power generation equipment
    • Combustion systems
    • Thermal-fluid systems
    • Structural or mechanical analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate within global, cross-functional engineering teams
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
  • Export Control Requirement (ECC): Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
