Verto People in Dallas, TX is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager for gas turbine projects in power generation. You will lead turbine selection, coordinate with electrical and civil teams, and oversee installation and startup.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical or Power Engineering and 5+ years in gas turbines, with hands-on field problem solving and performance optimization. You will collaborate with OEMs, contractors, and plant staff to ensure safe, compliant delivery.

Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Power Engineering or related discipline.
5+ years of mechanical engineering experience with gas turbines in power generation.
Experience spanning turbine design, operation, maintenance and performance improvement.
Knowledge of turbine auxiliaries, thermodynamics and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

Lead turbine selection, assess supplier proposals and develop technical specifications for equipment procurement.
Coordinate mechanical design with electrical, civil and wider project teams.
Oversee installation and commissioning, resolving technical issues through startup.
Analyze operating performance and recommend improvements to efficiency, availability and maintenance.
Investigate equipment failures and develop practical measures to prevent recurrence.
Work with OEMs, contractors and plant personnel to manage technical scope, quality and delivery.
Ensure designs and site activities meet applicable engineering, safety and environmental standards.
