Job summary

Verto People Ltd. seeks a Mechanical Engineering Manager for a hands-on leadership role in power generation projects. You will steer gas turbine technology from procurement through startup, coordinating with suppliers, OEMs and project teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role emphasizes field problem solving, design integrity, and adherence to safety and environmental standards across sites and equipment.

Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering or related discipline.
At least five years of mechanical engineering experience with gas turbines in power generation.
Experience spanning turbine design, operation, maintenance and performance improvement.
Knowledge of turbine auxiliaries, thermodynamics and mechanical systems.
Experience with microgrids and integrating generation with solar and battery storage.
Proficiency with design/analysis tools such as AutoCAD, MATLAB, Thermoflow or GT PRO.
Confidence coordinating suppliers and multidisciplinary teams through project delivery.

Responsibilities

Lead turbine selection, assess supplier proposals and develop technical specifications for equipment procurement.
Coordinate mechanical design with electrical, civil and wider project teams.
Oversee installation and commissioning, resolving technical issues through startup.
Analyze operating performance and recommend improvements to efficiency, availability and maintenance.
Investigate equipment failures and develop practical measures to prevent recurrence.
Work with OEMs, contractors and plant personnel to manage technical scope, quality and delivery.
Ensure designs and site activities meet applicable engineering, safety and environmental standards.
