Washington Gas is seeking a Gas Transmission Engineer to support the design, engineering, and execution of natural gas transmission and high‑pressure pipeline projects. Candidates with 1+ year of relevant gas experience are preferred and the role may be filled at Level I–IV depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mech or Civil) required.
• General knowledge of related engineering disciplines and applicable codes and standards.
• Proven ability to build rapport and work with internal and external partners.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office for data management, research, analysis, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage transmission and high-pressure pipeline projects including route analysis, design, cost estimating, and permitting.
• Forecast budgets and schedules; prepare weekly MOS reports and assist with annual capital budgets.
• Provide civil engineering design support for Corporate Engineering and GT Unit.
• Support operating, maintenance, and special projects from an engineering perspective.
• Develop or update O&M procedures and design/construction standards.
• Support or manage large transmission/distribution piping projects.
• Analyze complex loading scenarios on transmission pipelines and assist with civil/structural projects.
