Job summary

Spire is seeking a Gas Worker to support the Kansas City, MO operation by assisting in the repair, installation and maintenance of natural gas underground piping.

As part of the Construction and Maintenance Department, you will perform labor tasks, operate tools, and ensure safety while delivering reliable service to customers. This role requires flexibility, strong teamwork, and the ability to work in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain Class E Chauffeur license before completion of probation.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Effective communication and ability to interact appropriately with others.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient, courteous service to customers.
• Functions as part of a crew in Construction and Maintenance and works independently in Installation and Service.
• Receives and completes service orders by computer.
• Performs general labor in construction tasks and pipe fitting including breaking pavement and backfilling.
• Operates air and hydraulic tools and installs meters and fittings.
