Job summary

Spire is seeking a Gas Worker to support the Kansas City, MO operation by assisting in the repair, installation and maintenance of natural gas underground piping.

As part of the Construction and Maintenance Department, you will perform labor tasks, operate tools, and ensure safety while delivering reliable service to customers. This role requires flexibility, strong teamwork, and the ability to work in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must obtain Class E Chauffeur license before completion of probation.

Responsibilities

Job description

Spire is seeking a Gas Worker to work in the Kansas City, MO operation. This position will be responsible for assisting in the repair, installation and maintenance of natural gas underground piping.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient, courteous service to both internal and external customers.
• Functions as part of a crew in the Construction and Maintenance Department and works indecently in the Installation and Service department.
• Receives and completed service orders by computer.
• Demonstrates the capability of functioning as a member of this team executing his/her part of all phases of the work program.
• Performs general laboring duties in the Construction department and Installation and Service department which consist of breaking pavement, excavating, backfilling, compacting, pipe fitting, installing construction and maintenance materials, operating all air and hydraulic tools, installing meters and fittings, turning gas on and off, and removing and changing all sizes of diaphragm meters.
• All other duties as assigned
