Job summary

H&S Energy Products is seeking an Assistant Manager for its Pacific City, OR location. The role supports the Store Manager across daily operations, including paperwork, orders, pricing, and safety compliance.

You will oversee shift duties, interact with customers, and lead a small team while ensuring excellent service and adherence to labor laws. The position requires prior retail or management experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Prior Retail or Management experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Organize and prioritize tasks to meet demands, with excellent follow through.
• Identify issues and make the necessary corrections effectively.
• Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform select duties and responsibilities of the Store Manager in their absence, e.g., daily paperwork, approved orders, maintenance tickets, scheduling, price changes, customer concerns.
• Demonstrate competent knowledge of Point of Sale and back office systems.
• Resolve customer issues in a friendly and professional manner.
• Assign and inspect shift duties and responsibilities.
• Understand and apply federal, state, and local labor laws as they apply to retail operations.
• Assist with promoting a strong safety culture by helping ensure safety rules are followed.
• Demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Interact professionally with all team members.
• May be asked to make recommendations regarding employee performance and/or disciplinary issues.
