Job summary

Siemens Energy seeks an experienced Project Manager for Gas Services in the Central Global Customer Operations group. You will oversee the contract delivery for major equipment and services for gas turbine, steam turbine, or combined cycle plants.

Expect coordinating engineering, procurement, and manufacturing activities and serving as the main customer liaison. The role requires 8+ years in engineering or large industrial projects, strong contract reading skills, and travel up to 20%.

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Project Manager in the Gas Services Central Global Customer Operations organization, there is no such thing as a typical day. After all, you’ll be responsible for implementing the customer contract for the supply of key equipment and services for a large gas turbine, steam turbine, or combined cycle power plant. From responding to customer issues to coordinating the engineering efforts to checking on the purchasing and manufacturing, there’s a lot to be done before the plant goes commercial!

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Ensure that the project is properly set up, kicked off, structured, organized, and managed to enable the internal organization to complete the engineering, procurement, and manufacturing of the equipment.

• Act as the single point of contact with the customer, ensuring that all inquiries and open points are resolved to the satisfaction of both parties.

• Resolve issues that arise during the execution of the project to minimize their impact to both Siemens Energy and the customer.

• Ensure that the obligations of Siemens Energy are completed in accordance with the contract requirements.

• Mitigate the risks and exploiting the opportunities that arise during execution.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field or equivalent experience. 8+ years of industry experience. Project experience in power plant design/construction or equivalent large industrial design/construction projects. Prior experience includes reading, understanding, and interpreting external contractual documents including engineering drawings and specifications as well as complex project schedules.

• Working knowledge of the broad range of technical subject matter and engineering disciplines that is required to design, procure, manufacture, deliver, install, and commission a gas turbine power plant.

• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines. Optimally contribute in a team-oriented environment, with an ability to effectively communicate technical financial information to non-financial internal customers!

• Willing to travel 20% domestically and internationally.

• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
