Job summary

Pacific Gas and Electric Company is seeking a Gas Service Representative in San Carlos to respond to gas emergencies and perform safety checks on customer-owned gas appliances. This IB EW Local 1245 represented role is onsite with potential for overtime and weekend work.

The Gas Service team emphasizes safety, customer focus, and mechanical skills within PG&E's Energy Delivery division. Strong driving record and readiness for shift work are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in gas service, safety checks, and customer interactions preferred.
• Ability to operate in varied weather and shift schedules, including overtime.

Responsibilities

• Affixes approved dead end fittings to squeezed-off plastic services.
• Conducts leak survey work.
• Connects and disconnects services at the weather head on new business accounts, including panel upgrades.
• Performs installation and alteration of all domestic and commercial gas meter and regulator sets and equipment.
• Squeezes off (pinch-off) ruptured plastic services to protect life and property.
• Grades leaks for customer-generated tags.
• Handles single-phase complete outs and voltage concerns as needed.
• Performs gas appliance parts replacement alongside regular duties.
• Performs turn-ons or shut-offs up to 2 lbs.
