Job summary

Pacific Gas and Electric Company is seeking a Gas Service Representative (GSR) in San Carlos. The role is part of the IBEW Local 1245 represented classification and is subject to the collective bargaining agreement.

You will respond to gas emergencies, perform safety checks, and service customer-owned gas appliances. The position may involve working in confined spaces, shift work, weekends, overtime, and DOT screening.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old or older.
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
• Valid California driver’s license required.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Affixes approved fittings to squeezed-off plastic services.
• Conducts leak survey work.
• Connects/disconnects services at the weather head on new accounts.
• Performs installation/alteration of gas meter and regulator sets.
• Squeezes off ruptured plastic services to protect life and property.
• Grades leaks for customer-generated tags.
• Handles single-phase outages and voltage issues; flickering lights.
• Performs gas appliance parts replacement as part of regular work.
• Turns on/off gas supply up to 2 lbs.
• Supports DOT-Operations/Maintenance and emergency duties.
