Job summary

Louisville Gas and Electric Company in Louisville, Kentucky, is seeking an entry-level worker to support the construction, installation, inspection, operation and maintenance of gas measurement and regulation facilities and related equipment serving large commercial and industrial customers.

You will perform unskilled and semi-skilled tasks, learn on the job, and follow safety rules while assisting skilled crews in field operations, valve work, metering and system regulation activities.

Qualifications

• 2-year associate's degree in engineering technology or equivalent.
• Must be able to speak, understand, read and write English.
• Willing to obtain required state/federal certifications and licenses to operate company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules, policies and practices.
• Assist in installation, operation and maintenance of gas metering and regulation stations.
• Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, backfilling and loading supplies.
• Operate company vehicles and use computer systems to maintain equipment.
• Complete DOT Operator Qualifications as required.
