Job summary

Louisville Gas and Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company seek an entry-level worker to support gas measurement, regulation facilities, and metering operations in the field. The role involves learning through hands-on training across installation, inspection, and maintenance activities.

Responsibilities include following safety rules, performing basic labor tasks, and assisting in the operation and testing of metering equipment for large commercial and industrial settings.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, understand, read and write English and follow written instructions.
• Willingness to learn and perform both lower and higher classifications as needed.
• Strong aptitude for arithmetic and basic measurements.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules, corporate policies, and procedures.
• Participate in training activities and report to locations as directed.
• Assist in fire fighting and first aid training as required.
• Show competency through performance, training, and tests.
• Report damaged or defective equipment to supervision.
• Support activities across multiple classifications as needed.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas and equipment.
• Communicate regularly with supervision by radio, phone, or electronic means.
• Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, backfilling, and loading/unloading.
