Job summary

Louisville Gas and Electric Company, part of the PPL family, seeks an entry-level Instrument & Electrical Technician Helper to perform simple repair, maintenance and install station equipment.

You will learn to use hand tools, power tools, meters and test equipment, follow safety rules, and assist higher classifications. Two-year college degree or equivalent required.

This role supports field operations in the Louisville area with hands-on training and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Must speak/read/write English and follow written and oral instructions.
• Must have education or knowledge equivalent to a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to learn to use tools and equipment required for the work.

Responsibilities

• Perform simple repair work to clean, check, inspect, repair, maintain and install station equipment.
• Assist higher classification employees and supply necessary tools and materials.
• Keep work areas clean and safe; report damaged equipment or safety concerns.
• Learn proper use of hand and power tools, meters and test equipment.
• Assist in calibration, troubleshooting and basic electrical/instrument tasks.
• Operate vehicles for transporting personnel and equipment as needed.
