Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking a Location Technician to perform line location requests and accurate locates along pipelines. The role is primarily field-based, involving travel in a vehicle and coordination with multiple teams.

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of state regulations, basic utility construction standards, and proficiency with locating equipment; training and on-call responses after hours may be required.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of state and company damage prevention regulations.
• Knowledge of Basic Utility Construction Standards.
• Ability to locate gas lines using electronic locating equipment.
• Ability to manage excavation notices and ticket records.

Responsibilities

• Perform line location requests, review tickets and prioritize.
• Conduct timely locates and communicate results to requesters.
• Coordinate with other departments and contractors to obtain information.
• File and maintain locates and standby activity records.
• Attend one-call system meetings as directed.
