Job summary

Kinder Morgan, Inc. is seeking a field operations professional to operate and maintain gas pipelines and compression facilities. You will work with landowners and adjacent pipelines, oversee third-party crews, and ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.

The role requires shift work, ability to travel as needed, and a valid driver’s license. You will contribute to operational excellence and participate in safety programs. Location: United States (Arizona region).

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills (MS Office, various operating systems, and other software).
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer focus.
• Strong mechanical skills are needed.
• Available for shift work and standby when applicable.
• Ability to work with others as a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
• Ability to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work with a minimum of supervision.
• Ability to work with customers, suppliers, other operations groups, engineering staff, and management.
• Ability to safely operate a vehicle over rough terrain.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and meet company insurability requirements.
• May be required to possess a commercial driver’s license, drive a company commercial vehicle and comply with all commercial vehicle regulations.
• May be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job duties
• Achieve and maintain all Operator Qualifications and progression requirements applicable to the job classification.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain pipelines and compression facilities, including coordination with land owners and adjacent pipelines.
• Install, repair, service and maintain valves, pipe, and appurtenances.
• Maintain facilities and equipment including pipeline right-of-way storage areas and offices.
• Support projects with excavation oversight, pigging support, leak surveys, and related tasks.
• Represent the Company in meetings with landowners, officials, and the public.
• Oversee third-party construction and maintenance work.
• Train company and third-party personnel as required.
• Perform governmental compliance activities (PHMSA, State Agencies, EPA).
• Identify, report and correct safety and environmental concerns.
• Participate in safety programs and develop procedures and work plans.
• Complete documentation and record keeping.
• Work in compliance with standards and tariffs; respond to after-hours callouts and emergencies.
