Job summary

The Berkshire Gas Company, an Avangrid Company, seeks a Gas Technical Trainer to develop and deliver technical training for Gas Operations personnel in Adams, MA. You will build curricula, manage LMS documentation, and coordinate with subject matter experts to ensure regulatory compliance and training effectiveness.

Required is 3+ years in natural gas or related field, engineering or instructional design education, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum years of experience: 3+ years in natural gas or related technical field.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, instructional design, or related area of study.
• Technical knowledge of natural gas properties, pipeline construction, and safety regulations.
• Knowledge of 49 CFR Parts 191, 192, and 193.
• MA 220 CMR.
• Operator Qualification programs and written plans.
• Ability to design and conduct effective training programs including instructional design and presentation skills.
• Ability to obtain Operator Qualification tasks.
• 2+ years of demonstrated prior training experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver technical training for Gas Operations personnel.
• Create curriculum and training materials such as lesson plans, presentations, assessments, and simulations.
• Deliver classroom, field, virtual, and blended learning programs for employees and contractors.
• Assess training effectiveness and drive improvements from feedback and performance trends.
• Manage training resources and ensure materials and equipment are up-to-date.
• Monitor adherence to procedures and safety requirements with post-training evaluations.
• Stay current on industry codes, standards, technologies, and regulatory changes.
• Participate in incident reviews and root-cause analyses to identify training opportunities.
• Partner with Gas Operations, Engineering, Safety, and management to align training with needs.
• Evaluate trainee performance and provide coaching to enhance technical competencies.
