Job summary

The Berkshire Gas Company in Adams, MA is seeking a Technical Trainer to design, deliver, and manage gas operations training. You will develop curricula, coordinate instructors, and maintain training records to ensure regulatory compliance and technical excellence.

Responsibilities include creating lesson plans, hands-on exercises, and assessments for classroom, field, and virtual delivery, while staying current with PHMSA and MA codes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in natural gas industry or related technical trade.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, instructional design, or related field.
• Knowledge of natural gas properties, pipeline construction, and safety regulations.
• Familiarity with 49 CFR Parts 191, 192, and 193 and MA 220 CMR.
• Ability to design and conduct effective training programs and assessments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver training on gas distribution and transmission systems.
• Create materials: lesson plans, presentations, assessments, simulations.
• Deliver in classroom, field, virtual, and blended formats.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and implement improvements.
• Collaborate with operations to identify SME needs and annual improvements.
• Maintain LMS records and ensure up-to-date materials.
