Job summary

The Berkshire Gas Company in Adams, MA is seeking a Gas Technical Trainer to develop, deliver, and manage technical training for Gas Operations personnel. You will create curriculum, explain complex concepts, schedule training, and document through the LMS.

This role requires deep knowledge of natural gas operations and regulatory standards to ensure safety and efficiency. The position emphasizes collaboration with Operations to secure subject matter experts, evaluate training effectiveness, and

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in natural gas industry or relevant technical trade.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, instructional design, or related field.
• Knowledge of natural gas properties, pipeline construction/maintenance, and safety regulations.
• Familiarity with 49 CFR Parts 191, 192, 193 and MA 220 CMR.
• Ability to design and conduct effective training programs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver technical training for Gas Operations (distribution, transmission, safety).
• Create and maintain training materials (lesson plans, presentations, assessments, exercises, simulations).
• Deliver classroom, field, virtual, and blended learning programs for employees and contractors.
• Assess training effectiveness and implement improvements based on feedback and data.
• Coordinate with operations to align training with business needs.
