Job summary

Xcel Energy is offering an internship to support Gas Operations Technical Specialists and Brighton operations. You will help develop SOPs, clean up SAP reports, and assist with compliance-based maintenance planning.

You will collaborate with foremen and senior team members to resolve open notifications. Ideal candidates are current ABET-accredited students pursuing Business or Engineering degrees, able to work full-time in the summer or part-time during the school year, with strong Microsoft

Qualifications

• Current student enrolled in an ABET-accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Business or Engineering.
• Junior or higher as of Fall 2027.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) or part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commute to the designated work location, per our hybrid policy.

Responsibilities

• Support GOTS & Brighton operations by developing SOPs and cleaning up reports for compliance-based maintenance plans.
• Work with the foreman and senior team members to clean up open notifications.
• Clean up SAP reports and gather information for Standards.
• Develop SOPs and maintain documentation.

The intern will support GOTS( Gas Operations Technical Specialists) & Brighton operations to work with the team to develop SOP and clean up reports and compliance based driven maintenance plans. They will work with the foreman and senior in the groups to also clean up any open notifications.

Typical intern responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Cleaning SAP reports
• Gather information for Standards
• Develop SOPs
• Clean up open issues and notifications

This position is for a May 31, 2027 start date. This position may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship’s initial term based on the candidate’s successful performance and Xcel Energy’s business needs.

Minimum Requirements

• Current student, Junior or higher (as of Fall 2027)
• Enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Business or Engineering
• Minimal travel across the state
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week)/ part time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commuting to the designated work location in-person, per our hybrid work policy.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $19.00 to $21.00 per hour
