Job summary

Air Products is seeking a Generated Gas Supervisor for its 250 TPD Air Separation Unit in Petersburg, VA. You will lead a two-person team, oversee daily operations, safety programs, and maintenance budgeting to ensure reliable production of gaseous oxygen, liquid oxygen, and crude argon.

The role emphasizes leadership, strong communication, and the ability to work independently within a safety-sensitive environment while interfacing with customers and the business to meet operational goals.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; degree preferred but not required.
• 5+ years of operations and/or maintenance in an industrial plant environment preferred.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Strong leadership, communication, and self-motivation.

Responsibilities

• Handle the site's BSP and PSM programs, supporting zero injuries.
• Ensure environmental compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Maintain understanding of safe operating parameters, design specs, and permit limits.
• Support daily plant operations, troubleshoot process issues, supervise activities, and manage site projects.
• Identify maintenance concerns and coordinate with maintenance for corrective actions; oversee preventive maintenance and mechanical integrity programs.
• Implement and promote best practices across site operations.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
