Job summary

MasTec Utility Services seeks a Director of Gas Operations to oversee the South Central Natural Gas operations, driving safe, profitable delivery of gas distribution projects and coordinating across departments and leadership.

The role requires a strong background in gas construction, budget and project management, and a track record of leading teams to meet timelines and customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction technology, engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of natural gas contractor experience, including supervisory experience.
• Experience managing divisional or department budgets.
• Experience managing projects to completion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and upper management.
• Ability to read work prints.
• Experience building and maintaining relationships with large-scale customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct operations staff in the effective and safe execution of projects.
• Manage budgets and schedules to meet customer satisfaction.
• Generate revenues and costs with P&L responsibility for the business unit.
• Develop short-term and long-range development plans, forecasting, and budgets.
• Be a key source and proponent of Safety and promote Safety Leadership.
• Ensure rigorous safety and operational excellence processes across the region.
• Make staffing decisions, train new employees, and develop performance.
• Prepare and present detailed construction cost estimates and documentation.
• Perform other duties as required.
