Job summary

NiSource is seeking a Clearance Coordinator to support safe, reliable gas system operations by coordinating activities between Gas Control, Gas Operations, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities include planning work schedules, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting emergency response, audits, and driving continuous improvement, with opportunities across multiple levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Experience in utility operations, gas operations, project coordination, system planning, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage clearance-related activities supporting gas system operations.
• Collaborate with Gas Control, Gas Operations, contractors, and suppliers to ensure work is planned and executed safely.
• Monitor schedules, work activities, and operational priorities to support efficient workflow execution.
• Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Support or lead audits, investigations, and operational reviews.
• Analyze operational issues and recommend corrective actions and process improvements.
• Track project milestones, deliverables, and operational performance metrics.
• Assist with or lead emergency response and restoration activities as needed.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Provide operational support during extended hours, critical work windows, or emergency situations.
