Job summary

THE BERKSHIRE GAS COMPANY in Adams, MA is seeking a Meter B technician to test, refurbish, and certify gas meters and related regulation equipment under supervision. Responsibilities include meter testing, deliveries, and supporting meter reading; prior training and certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
• DOT certification required.
• Forklift operation certification required.
• OQ (Operator Qualification) requirements must be attained and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Provide departmental support for Meter Services performing in-test and out-test of gas meters for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.
• Use shop equipment including pallet trucks, forklift, paint spray booth, industrial washing machine, meter proving apparatuses.
• Perform meter deliveries to outlying operation centers using a rack body truck >10,000 pounds.
• Provide back up support for meter reading and driving meter routes as needed.
• Data entry in SAP.
