Job summary

Peak Utility Infrastructure is seeking a Gas Meter Technician I to install and service gas meters and related equipment. You will work under supervision, gain hands-on experience, and perform meter exchanges, tests, and related piping tasks.

Entry-level role with up to 90 days of training; high school diploma required, and willingness to obtain a valid driver’s license. Expect physical work, safety adherence, and customer-facing duties in field settings.

Qualifications

• Ability to read safety data sheets, operating manuals and work orders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math and take-off calculations for job tasks.

Responsibilities

• Installs gas meters, regulators, piping and pipe fittings with black iron pipe.
• Performs meter exchanges and upgrades on gas meters.
• Repairs gas leaks and maintains meters in safe condition.
• Maintains accurate daily logs and records of installations.
• Prepares worksites to minimize hazards and ensures tool upkeep.
• Safely works around customer properties and heavy equipment.
