Role Overview
Seeking a proficient Gas Metal Arc Welder to join, fabricate, and repair steel components utilizing MIG welding techniques in a dynamic setting.
Main Duties:
- Employ various welding methods to join, fabricate, and repair metals.
- Review blueprints, specifications, and diagrams to execute precise welding operations.
- Perform inspections on welds to ensure they're structurally sound.
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols.
- Prepare materials and configure welding machinery or automation as necessary.
- Potential requirements for apprenticeship or formal specialty training.
- Contribute to the safety and quality initiatives by following guidelines.
- Execute other assigned tasks.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Operational skills with forklifts and cranes.
- Competence in reading blueprints and using various hand and measuring tools.
- Aptitude for fractional and metric conversions.
- Deliver high-caliber results to both internal and external clients.
- Capable of operating processing machines.
- Proficiency in English communication.
- Meticulousness is essential.
- High School Diploma or equivalent .
- MIG welder certification.
- Vocational training or relevant experience is an advantage.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift weight ranging from 20 to 50 lbs regularly.
- Sustained ability to bend, sit, stand, twist, and stoop.
- Active movement over distances of 2-5 miles during shifts.
- Vision 20/30 with adjustments.
- Dexterity in hand and finger movements for object manipulation.
- Adaptability to various internal and external environmental conditions, including temperature changes, loud noises, and equipment vibrations.
Essential Proficiencies:
- Conversant with production welding setups.
