Job summary

PG&E is seeking an Expert Gas Program Manager to lead materials traceability and materials management within the Gas Engineering team, supporting both transmission and distribution systems. The role ensures full traceability, compliance with federal/state requirements, and audit readiness.

The position intersects engineering, supply chain, quality, and field execution, driving enterprise-wide process improvements and data governance while delivering cost and operational efficiencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; seven+ years of related experience preferred.
• SAP experience and program management experience are essential.
• Experience managing capital or expense budgets is required.
• Knowledge of 49 CFR Part 192 and gas utility operations is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Applies expert program management knowledge to wide-ranging issues and leads projects independently.
• Manages cross-department programs with significant business impact and budget oversight.
• Develops plans to achieve program goals and presents progress to leadership.
• Forecasts work, ensures closure of projects, and identifies issues with mitigation plans.
• Develops budgets, tracks expenditures, and explains variances to stakeholders.
• Leads process improvements, controls, and standard operating procedures for efficiency and compliance.
• Represents the program on regulatory filings and governance activities.
