Job summary

WGNSTAR in Austin, Texas, is seeking a Gas Maintenance Technician 1 to operate and maintain chemical and gas delivery systems. The role requires wearing self-contained breathing apparatus and PPE, with duties including equipment maintenance and P&ID interpretation.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of semiconductor/chemical/manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to achieve basic knowledge of Quality Management.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of safe work practices and lockout/tagout experience.

Responsibilities

  • Safe operation of chemical and gas distribution systems, using PPE.
  • Perform in-depth maintenance on gas delivery equipment.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs.

Schedule: Compressed Scheduled Days

Pay Rate: $24 - $26/hr

Location: Austin, Texas

Position Type: Full Time

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Safe operation of assigned chemical and/or gas distribution systems, including wearing Self Contained Breathing Apparatus’ and Chemical Resistant PPE.
  • Perform in-depth maintenance and service on Chemical and Gas delivery equipment.
  • Read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all activities performed
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of experience in a semiconductor, chemical, or other manufacturing setting
  • Ability to achieve a basic knowledge of Quality Management.
  • Communicate effectively using written and verbal skills.
  • Understanding of safe work practices and experience in lockout, tag out
Physical Effort/Activities:

May be required to walk up to 5+ miles per day, be on feet for 8-10 hours at a time, and occasionally climb ladders while utilizing fall protection. The ability to bend, twist, push/pull, crouch, kneel in confined spaces, and lift up to 40 pounds is required. Some tasks may require wearing a Supplied Contained Breathing Air Respirator for short periods (10-15 minutes) while working with chemicals. PPE made available includes safety glasses, hard hat, ear plugs, chemical aprons, gloves, and more.
