Job summary

Gas Energy Staffing LLC in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Gas & Chemical Technician for a contract position. The TGCM Technician will maintain and operate liquid bulk and specialty gas/chemical delivery equipment, perform troubleshooting, and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

The role involves daily rounds, system monitoring, reporting per site policies, and supporting emergency response. 3–5 years in gas/chemical fields is preferred.

Qualifications

Job Summary

The TGCM Technician is responsible for maintaining and operating liquid bulk and specialty gas/chemical delivery equipment. This role performs intermediate troubleshooting, equipment repair, system monitoring, emergency response, and hazardous waste support while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Job Description
  • Maintain and operate liquid bulk and specialty gas/chemical delivery equipment
  • Perform intermediate gas/chemical troubleshooting and repair of delivery equipment
  • Perform daily rounds, including recording readings, completing safety inspections, monitoring online gas and chemical systems, verifying toxic gas monitoring operations, and completing chemical tote/drum and gas cylinder change‑outs
  • Verify that daily rounds are recorded.
  • Determine corrective actions for abnormal parameters, and ensure corrective actions are completed
  • Monitor and understand the correct liquid bulk delivery procedures for each product on site
  • Perform bulk gas and chemical trailer transfers
  • Provide information for and initiate proper reporting procedures per on‑site policies, including but not limited to Quality Incident Reports, product acceptance, tank fills, inventory and material usage, bulk gas analysis, analyzer calibration, monitoring, safety parameters, and personnel requirements
  • Assist in the identification and resolution of gas/chemical‑related manufacturing problems
  • Commission and start up specialty gas/chemical delivery equipment
  • Satisfactorily complete TGCM Tech 7 local OJT and qualification requirements within 12 months on the job
  • Restart all high‑purity gas and/or chemical delivery equipment
  • Act as an Emergency Response Team member/leader
  • Issue Hazardous Work Permits
  • Act as the primary customer shift interface
  • Participate in customer and company programs, including but not limited to Safety, Training, Operations, and Preventive Maintenance
  • Support the training of TGCM contractors and TGCM Tech 5, and 6 employees
  • Develop and maintain applicable site‑specific work instructions
  • Comply with all applicable HS&E Standards, including but not limited to PPE, Forklift Operations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and Confined Space Entry
  • Complete assigned tasks per existing procedures
  • Perform minor analytical procedures and/or sampling procedures
  • Accountable for the safety of all personnel and the general public surrounding the facility
  • Hazardous Waste Technician (at applicable operations locations):
    • Ensure proper transfer of materials to the dock hazardous waste storage area, including utilization of appropriate maintenance, documentation, equipment, labelling, and procedures
    • Follow proper procedures for handling spills/emergencies, pour‑up of materials, segregation of compatible materials, preparation for waste/containers for shipment, and forklift operation
    • Support waste minimization programs/activities, and maintain understanding of applicable hazardous waste laws
Skills Required
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in the semiconductor or chemical/specialty gas field, military technical/electronic rating, nuclear field, or an equivalent industry preferred
  • Knowledge of all proper reporting procedures per onsite operations policy, including product acceptance criteria, tank fills, inventory and material usage, monitoring, safety parameters, and personnel requirements
  • Strong mechanical and electromechanical aptitude
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and supervise a group of technicians on a project
  • Demonstrated aptitude for controlling emergency situations and coordinating problem‑solving actions
  • Ability to understand and adhere to stringent safety and quality standards
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Demonstrate ability to train junior technicians
Education/Training/Certifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
Additional Requirements
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening and criminal background check
  • Ability to wear a respirator as part of required PPE for certain job tasks
  • Physical Requirements
    • Ability to lift 40 lbs
    • Ability to stand/walk up to 11 hours per day
    • Ability to operate hydraulic foot pump (55‑gallon drums – drums could be up to 500 lbs.)
    • Job requires constant bending to successfully complete shift tasks (validating information, checking systems, etc.)
Pay Rate/Salary
  • $33.00/hr. Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location
