Job summary

WGNSTAR in Austin, TX is seeking a Chemical Maintenance Technician 1 to operate and maintain chemical and gas distribution systems in our semiconductor-focused environment. You will perform on-the-job training, adhere to safety protocols, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years in a related setting, ability to read P&IDs, and strong communication skills. Work hours are Mon-Fri, 7am-4pm, with full benefits available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years in semiconductor or chemical manufacturing.
• Ability to achieve basic knowledge of Quality Management.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Understanding of safe work practices and lockout/tagout experience.

Responsibilities

• Safe operation of chemical and/or gas distribution systems, including SCBA and PPE.
• Perform in-depth maintenance and service on chemical and gas delivery equipment.
• Read and interpret P&IDs.
• Ensure accurate documentation of all activities performed.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Safe operation of assigned chemical and/or gas distribution systems, Including wearing Self Contained Breathing Apparatus’ and Chemical Resistant PPE.
• Perform in-depth maintenance and service on Chemical and Gas delivery equipment.
• Read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Ensure accurate documentation of all activities performed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of experience in a semiconductor, chemical, or other manufacturing setting
• Ability to achieve a basic knowledge of Quality Management.
• Communicate effectively using written and verbal skills.
• Understanding of safe work practices and experience in lockout, tag out

Physical Effort/Activities

May be required to walk up to 5+miles per day, able to be on feet for 8-10 hrs at a time, able tobend, twist, push/pull, crouch, kneel in confined spaces, work at heights, on a ladder, and lift up to 50-75 pounds. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
