Gas Leak Survey Technician

GridHawk LLC, the premier provider for utility services, is seeking a Leak Survey Technician for its Leak Survey Department. The role is field‑based, visiting various locations during a typical workday. The technician will use routing practices, remain well organized, and work year‑round, often in adverse weather conditions across the Kansas City, MO area. Responsibilities include ACI inspections on indoor meters, disconnect non‑payment of service, disconnect service points, meter reads, meter removals, and other tasks assigned by management or customers.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED certificate (Required)
Valid driver’s license (Required)
No more than three moving violations within a rolling five‑year period (Required)
Successful background screening (No violations in last five years) (Required)
Negative DOT pre‑employment drug screen (Required)

Essential Skills

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work smoothly with citizens, company, contractor representatives, and customers
Knowledge of safe worksite practices
Experience using industry‑standard locating equipment and basic maintenance
Experience with communication and technology devices

Physical Requirements

Capable of moving around construction sites, public streets, and parkways
Capable of lifting up to 50–75 lbs
Ability to stand, walk, kneel, or sit for extended periods
Hand‑eye coordination required for operating computers and various measurement, locating, and testing instruments

Work Environment

Work safely outdoors in all weather conditions year‑round
Occasional work in excavations and roadways
Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration
