Job summary

NY STATE ELECTRIC & GAS CORP is seeking a Coordinator - Field to support gas construction projects in Rochester, NY or Kirkwood, NY. The role reports to the Gas Construction Supervisor and oversees project scope, budget, and schedule, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring timely execution.

You will provide leadership, planning, and daily decision-making on programs, while communicating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success and alignment with corporate

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; 3+ years field ops experience preferred.
• Associates degree with 5 years experience; 2–5 years field ops capital project work preferred.
• Knowledge of design, construction, and maintenance standards/practices.
• Experience leading teams/projects; strong PM and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task with strong problem solving and negotiation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical leadership on various company projects and programs including major road jobs and betterment projects.
• Coordinates work activities of project teams; prepares periodic status reports (25%).
• Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget; tracks schedule and cost reports (20%).
• Acts as liaison between cross-functional teams; leads status meetings.
• Ensures accountability for results; secures necessary resources to complete projects (20%).
• Administers bid contracts and assists in validating change orders (10%).

Education

High School Diploma/GED equivalent

Associates Degree with 5 years experience

Knowledge of system design, construction, and maintenance standards

Experience in leading teams and/or projects

Project management and organizational skills

Ability to multi-task

Strong problem solving and analytical skills
