Job summary

WEC Energy Group seeks a Gas Engineering Intern for May–August 2027 at its Chicago and Waukegan locations. Interns will support gas design, construction, operations, maintenance, and analyses while developing engineering skills and project management capabilities.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, current enrollment in an engineering bachelor’s or master’s program with graduation after June 2027, and a minimum 2.8 GPA.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, HSED, or GED
• Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering majors with a graduation date after June 2027
• Minimum GPA of 2.8
• Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

• Assist with analyses and preparation of plans, designs, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and work procedures for gas transmission and distribution projects
• Analyze gas load requests and recommend metering and pressure regulating equipment
• Update computer models and perform network studies related to gas system flow and capacity
• Build knowledge of natural gas transmission and distribution engineering through exposure to facilities and projects in various stages
• Other duties as assigned
