Job summary

City of Alexandria is seeking skilled Trades Worker in the Gas Department to perform maintenance, installation, and repair of the natural gas distribution system. The role requires capability across carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related trades.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Sufficient skilled maintenance experience in electrical, gas, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry or related areas.
• Specific training or certification in specialized trade may be required.

Responsibilities

• Receives work orders and maintains related records.
• Performs skilled maintenance, repair, and installation of the natural gas distribution system.
• Estimates time, materials, and equipment; requisitions materials as required.
• Uses and operates a variety of hand and power tools.
