The City of Alexandria is seeking professional individuals to begin a career in the Gas Department, located in the heart of Central Louisiana, to perform advanced technical work that involves installing, inspecting, maintaining, testing, and repairing assorted natural gas equipment as well as adjusting and monitoring gas pressure and volume in the natural gas system. This position is subject to 24-hour call.
High School diploma or GED; supplemented by three (3) years experience in the testing, maintenance, and repair of regulators, reliefs, control valves, meters and assorted equipment in the SCADA network; or any equivalent combination, of education training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess a valid driver's license. Will be required to obtain a valid State of Louisiana driver's license at time of appointment and maintain throughout employment for this classification. Must obtain certifications as required by the Office of Pipeline Safety within six months of hire.
40 hours per week; Subject to 24-hour call and weekends.
