Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of gas distribution construction methods and practices.
• Experience with underground utility construction and trenching standards.
• Understanding of DOT/PHMSA regulations and gas utility compliance standards.
• Proven ability to manage field crews, subcontractors, and multiple job sites.
• Experience with cost tracking, scheduling, and construction reporting systems.
• Proficiency with MS Office and construction/project management software.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field operations for gas distribution construction projects, including main installation, service replacements, system upgrades, and emergency response work.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (DOT/PHMSA).
• Manage daily field activities, monitor productivity, coordinate crews and subcontractors, and ensure quality installation and restoration of gas distribution infrastructure.
• Coordinate with utility clients, inspectors, municipalities, and permitting agencies to ensure work compliance and timely completion.
• Oversee traffic control, excavation, restoration, and right-of-way management.
• Manage and support union and non-union crews ( between 8-10 crews, and 25-35 individuals), subcontractors, and field personnel.
• Ensure proper documentation of as-builts, pressure tests, inspection logs, and material usage and traceability.
• Assist with scheduling, resource planning, and coordination of tools, equipment, and fleet.
• Promote continuous improvement in construction practices, safety performance, and operational efficiency.
