Job summary

The City of Fulton seeks to train and employ individuals for a role in constructing and maintaining the city’s gas distribution system. You will work under a pipefitter, gaining hands-on experience while meeting safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, readiness for pre-employment and periodic drug testing, and CDL eligibility with progressive certification. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Completed high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass pre-employment drug testing and periodic testing as required.
• CDL A or B, or must obtain CDL permit within 90 days and full CDL within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Receives notification of a new project and gathers tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Helps secure the work site by placing signs for safety.
• Observes and communicates effectively with the public, contractors, and others.
• Assists with excavation procedures following safety training.
• Assists with pipefitting duties and ensures compliance with regulations.
• Maps department locates and assists other departments as needed.
• Maintains certifications through tests and training.
• Supports after-hours on-call rotation and emergency response.
