Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
• Ability to assimilate data from multiple sources and act under high stress.
• Understanding of gas operations concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to obtain Operator Qualifications.
• Analytical skills to evaluate data and manage risks.
• Ability to assess weather forecasts and patterns.
• Ability to work rotating shifts with minimal notice.
• Ability to perform tasks without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the Rhode Island natural gas distribution system.
• Provide oversight for safe and reliable flows using a SCADA.
• Monitor daily system supply requirements and advise related departments.
• Coordinate field personnel to respond to SCADA alarms.
• Log shift activities in the Electronic Logging System.
• Contact after-hours support teams as needed.
• Participate in field training opportunities when available.
• Respond to emergencies to protect life, limb, and property.
• Maintain knowledge of emergency procedures and GIS records.
• Monitor gas quality and report issues to supervision.
• Dispatch natural gas supplies from interstate pipeline suppliers.
• Monitor odorization equipment to ensure proper odorization.
• Follow RI Energy processes and procedures.
• Assist in preparing and distributing daily game plan.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and standards.
