Job summary

Targa Resources is seeking a Maintenance Technician based in the Midland–San Angelo area or open to relocating. No housing camp is provided for this role.

The technician is responsible for keeping engines, natural gas compressors, pumps, valves, filtration systems, and other equipment in proper working order, with assignments to plant or field as needed based on experience. You will perform rounds, inspections, routine startups/shutdowns, and necessary permit work.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of related work experience.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of Natural Gas Characteristics, Engine and Compressor Operations and Maintenance.
  • Ability to work a 5/2 M-F OR a 7/7 rotation schedule including overtime, weekends, holidays, with the ability to respond to call outs as needed.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform rounds and readings at compressor stations and plants.
  • Inspect equipment including spill prevention, fire systems, transformers, engines hours, and filters.
  • Perform routine startup/shutdown of field equipment (pumps, compressors, heaters).
  • Create and manage work orders in Maximo; order parts and manage inventory.
  • Follow safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures and tailgate safety talks.
  • Collaborate with other departments for construction support and commissioning.
