Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks a Gas and Chemical Systems Section Leader to own and improve chemical operations, support equipment startup, and collaborate with operations, maintenance, and vendors to sustain reliability.

You will lead a ~10-person engineering team, drive safety initiatives, ensure compliance with PSM/RMP, and partner with Fab Engineering on capacity projects and end-of-life asset strategies.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering, or related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 year’s direct operations experience related to gas and/or chemical supply systems.
• Semiconductor or electronics facility support preferred, with an emphasis on safety and hazardous process materials.
• Direct leadership and management of teams responsible for the operation and maintenance of chemical equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct manage a small team of ~10 engineers.
• Lead and participate in safety initiatives, programs, and activities to drive world class safety performance.
• Provide technical expertise and ownership for chemical systems, safety and quality standards, and improvements for those systems.
• Interact with operations, maintenance, construction, and vendors to sustain and maintain equipment.
• Troubleshoot emergent equipment issues.
• Ensure compliance to regulatory codes and standards including PSM/RMP.
• Plan and execute non-standard equipment maintenance with maintenance teams.
• Coordinate with Fab Engineering for technical support and collaboration on safety, quality, and system reliability.
• Support capacity planning and projects involving demolition and installation of equipment and infrastructure.
• Manage end-of-life assets to ensure reliability and safety.
• Foster learning, development, and job satisfaction.
