The primary core function of a Benefit Program Specialist II involves verifying and processing tax and wage garnishments daily. Will assist with incoming calls from claimants/employers concerning balances, garnishments, deadlines, and explanation of notices. Will assess and evaluate the nature of all incoming calls to assist. Will take appropriate action on all Answers to Warrant for Garnishments, and LAU-41 Forms based on relevant information provided by the employer. Will take appropriate action on a case-by-case basis for sending balance letters and release of garnishment letters. Will process all LAU documents from the fax line daily. Will implement solutions and give options when possible, coinciding with policy and procedure. Will participate in team-building staff meetings to ensure meaningful performance. Will perform other duties as assigned.

Must have good time management skills. Must have the ability to assess and evaluate the nature of all incoming calls with a mindset of resolution.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 1-3 years of experience. For the Division of Medicaid, an Associate's Degree and 3-5 years of experience. — Agency Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited 4-year college or university and at least five (5) years of experience in providing customer service. All potential applicants must have a valid driver's license and pass an extensive background check.
