Job summary

Avantor in Chandler, AZ seeks a motivated team member to perform mission-based lab work and inventory support in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with Lab and Production Services to serve customers and help return time back to science.

In this hourly role you will handle garment replenishment, inspections, inbound shipments, daily inventory checks, and data logging, with on-the-job training provided. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• 0 to 1 year of experience in warehouse, logistics, laboratory, or similar material handling.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently.
• Basic reading and math skills to verify counts, read labels, and complete logs.

Responsibilities

• Point-of-use replenishment of garments.
• Collection and inspection of used garments before shipment.
• Collect usage data and log it in tracking system.
• Receive inbound shipments from common carriers.
• Daily inventory inspections and soil-bin checks.
• Order new garments and any special sizes as needed.
• Map garment locations for training aids and serve as point of contact for garment issues.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will report to the site services supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor's Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Hourly Rate: $17.00

Shift: Mon - Friday, 7 am - 4 pm

Location: Chandler, AZ

What we're looking for

• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required
• Experience : 0 - 1 year of experience in a warehouse, logistics, laboratory, or similar materials-handling environment
• Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred
• No prior laboratory-specific experience required; on-the-job training provided
• Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently
• Basic reading and math skills sufficient to verify item counts, read labels, and complete activity logs
• Ability to use a handheld scanner or tablet device for inventory tracking (training provided)
• Familiarity with standard material handling equipment (hand carts, dollies) or willingness to learn
• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds (23kg) with or without assistance.
• Stand and walk for extended periods across a customer facility

In this role you will:

• Point-of-use replenishment of garments
• Collection of used garments.
• Inspection of used garments to identify any damage before shipment.
• Collection of usage data at the point of use and adding it to the tracking log
• Receive inbound shipments from common carriers.
• Daily inspections of inventory & soil bins check to avoid overflow.
• Ordering new garments as needed or any special sizes.
• Mapping out garment locations for training aids
• Point person for any garment issues or concerns.
• Other duties as assigned.
