Job summary

The Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis is seeking a friendly, reliable team member to be the face of the Garden during shifts. You will interact with Garden employees, visitors, vendors, and donors, and help welcome guests under general supervision.

Under supervision, you will perform general housekeeping, assist with event setup, and ensure proper recycling. You must be able to lift 30-60 pounds and work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Be willing to learn new procedures
• Present a professional attitude at all times under the scrutiny of the general public
• Meet productivity standards
• Ability to read instructions and to understand the label on cleaning products
• Ability to multitask in a sometimes fast-paced environment
• Ability to lift 30-60 pounds
• Ability and willingness to work in varying temperatures and all-weather conditions
• Ability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Perform general daily housekeeping duties
• Event Set-up duties require setting up tables, chairs
• Remain alert, courteous, and helpful to visitors and employees at all times
• Ensure that all recycled compost and landfill materials are placed in the correct containers
• Reports all accidents, injuries, and near-miss accidents immediately to your supervisor
• Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, washing surfaces, emptying trash, and other duties as assigned
