Job summary

Gertens Family of Businesses in Maple Plain, MN is seeking a passionate team member for a seasonal, part-time role (ASAP through November). The position offers 15 hours per week with morning and weekend availability, working in our greenhouse and Garden Center.

You’ll help care for plants, merchandise the shop, assist customers, and handle cashier duties with a friendly attitude. This is a great chance to gain hands-on gardening experience in a supportive, plant-loving team.

Qualifications

• Plant enthusiast with interest in gardening and plant care.
• Energetic, positive attitude, and able to work in a busy seasonal environment.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in MN weather and flexible weekday mornings or closing shifts, plus weekends.

Responsibilities

• Watering, deadheading, and caring for plants in the greenhouse.
• Merchandise the Garden Center by organizing and displaying products.
• Assist customers with plant selections and gardening tips.
• Cashier duties at the register with friendly service.

Location: Maple Plain, MN

Seasonal: ASAP through November, weather depending

Schedule: 15 hours/week expected. Morning and Weekend availability is required

What You’ll Do:

• Plant Care & Maintenance: Tend to our beautiful plants by watering, deadheading, and ensuring they thrive in our greenhouse.
• Merchandising: Keep our Garden Center shed fresh and appealing by expertly organizing and displaying our plants, products, and seasonal treasures.
• Customer Care: Share your love for gardening by helping customers pick the perfect plants and offering tips to help their gardens grow.
• Cashiering: Provide excellent service at the register and help customers with their purchases with a smile!

Who You Are:

• A plant enthusiast with a passion for gardening (or eager to learn!)
• Energetic and ready to embrace the busy season with a positive attitude
• Physically able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable working in MN weather conditions
• Flexible availability to work weekdays mornings and/or closing shifts and weekends as needed
