Job summary

Hörmann seeks a Product Engineer to support development, improvement, and implementation of garage door products and components at our Puyallup, WA site. You will collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Quality, and Service to create new products, reduce costs, and improve producibility.

The role requires knowledge of the garage door industry, hands-on manufacturing experience, and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Knowledge or professional experience with garage doors and components.
• Experience in product development, manufacturing engineering, or related field preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Support new product and component development from concept through production.
• Improve existing products to enhance quality, cost, performance, and manufacturability.
• Work with Manufacturing, Sales, Quality, and Service to identify and resolve product and process issues.
• Develop and maintain BOMs, routings, costing, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Support product testing, production trials, and implementation of new or modified products.
• Process ECRs and ECOs as needed.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes using Lean and continuous improvement principles.
• Support installation, service, and technical documentation.
• Analyze problems, develop solutions, and implement improvements.
• Be willing to work hands-on in the manufacturing environment.
• Travel approximately 20%.
